Controlant’s Executive Team Grows

Controlant, the leader in real-time supply chain monitoring and visibility technologies, saw substantial growth in 2021, welcoming an additional 230 employees to the team during the year. To keep pace with its growth, Controlant has expanded its executive team and continues to invest in its customers and the business to better support further growth and value creation.

New in the Executive Team

Chief Commercial Officer – Martin Thaysen Martin Thaysen is Controlant’s new Chief Commercial Officer. This new role is responsible for end-to-end commercial engagement with our customers, including Customer Success, Business and Solutions Development, and Sales and Marketing.

Martin comes with 25+ years of experience within logistics and supply chain as CEO, Chief Commercial Officer, Strategy, Operations, and Talent Development. He has worked in global and regional roles in Denmark, China, Thailand, and the UK, and spent 20 years with Maersk and CEVA Logistics.

Changes in the Executive Team

Chief Operations Officer – Vallý Helgadóttir Vallý Helgadóttir is Controlant’s new Chief Operations Officer. Vallý has been with Controlant for four years as Chief Services Officer, and is an expert in Controlant solutions and operations. In her new role, Vallý is responsible for the operational service delivery to customers, customer implementations, logistics operation, the MARS Customer Response Team and production.

Chief Quality Officer – Anna Karlsdóttir Anna Karlsdóttir, Controlant’s Chief Quality Officer, is expanding her role and will now lead Controlant’s new Quality and Excellence Division. For the last six years, Anna has been instrumental in developing the company’s management systems in her role as Chief Quality Officer. The Quality and Excellence Division consists of the following teams: Quality Systems, Quality Operations, Project and Information Management, and Organizational Process Development and Support.

Also in the Executive Team:

Chief Human Resources Officer, Elín María Björnsdóttir, has been on the Executive Team since September 2021 and with Controlant since January 2021. Elín María is responsible for HR operations, office management, talent acquisition, learning and development, culture and engagement, internal communication, and sustainability.

Chief Technology Officer, Erlingur Brynjúlfsson, is co-founder and has served as Chief Technology Officer since 2007, leading all product R&D, design, and development.

Chief Financial Officer, Guðmundur Árnason, leads all financial, procurement, and legal activities. He has been Controlant’s Chief Financial Officer since 2015.
