Audbjorg Olafsdottir is the New Director of Internal Communications and Sustainability

August 23, 2021 –Reykjavik, Iceland and San Francisco, California — To support its growing workforce, Controlant, the leader in real-time supply chain monitoring and visibility technologies, has hired Audbjorg Olafsdottir as part of its Human Resources team. In this role, she will lead all internal communications and grow Controlant’s sustainability efforts.

Audbjorg previously worked for Marel, a global leader in the food processing industry. At Marel, she was responsible for communications and investor relations in various positions during the last 8 years. From 2014-2019, she served as the Corporate Director of Investor Relations and Communications and since 2019 as the Global Director of Communications, where she managed external and internal communication activities for Marel on a global level. She also was the company’s spokesperson and represented Marel’s media outreach and relations.

Prior to that position, Audbjorg was an Information Officer at the European Union and an Economist at Islandsbanki, forecasting inflation and housing issues. She edited the daily newsletter, created economic reports, and represented the organization in media interviews. She has also been a news editor and journalist at Vidskiptabladid and Reuters.

Audbjorg holds a B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Iceland and a Master’s degree in International Trade from the Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Australia. She also received a diploma from Reykjavik University in Education studies and led a course on Iceland’s application to the E.U.

Controlant recently announced its vital role in COVID-19 vaccine distribution globally and within the US. In addition, it plans to make additional talent acquisitions in critical business units such as Product, Marketing, Revenue, R&D, Business Intelligence, Data Science, and additional operations roles throughout 2021.
