All electronic and hardcopy documents supplied by Pfizer related to product shipments, including training documents, photographs, videos, etc., are subject to confidentiality obligations and must not be shared beyond their prescribed internal use.
NOTE: Dry Ice exposure is a safety hazard. To ensure appropriate controls are in place, review the enclosed Dry Ice Safety Data Sheet.
A. Receive shipper. Carrier waits 30 minutes for return of shipper.
B. Gather materials needed: waterproof insulated gloves and goggles
for safe dry ice handling, box cutter, and packaging tape for return.
C. Put on gloves and goggles in preparation for handling Dry Ice.
D. Open shipper by cutting the packaging tape – do not cut too deeply. Read instructional documents included on top of foam flap in shipper.

Step Two:
NOTE: Ideally the shipper will be close to the Ultra Low Temperature freezer to ensure quick transfer of payload carton to ULT freezer before the 5-minute countdown is complete.
A. Put on waterproof insulated gloves and safety glasses / goggles.
B. Turn off the Temperature Monitoring Device (TMD) by holding the stop button for 5 seconds.
C. Begin a 5-minute countdown and open the foam lid using the “lift here” cutouts.
D. Remove the dry ice pod.
E. Open internal carton compartment flaps.
F. Remove payload carton.

Step Three:
NOTE: Ideally the shipper will be close to the Ultra Low Temperature freezer to ensure quick transfer of payload carton to ULT freezer before the 5-minute countdown is complete.
A. Within 5 minutes or less of opening foam shipper lid, place payload carton into Ultra Low Temperature (ULT) freezer; 5-minute countdown ends.
B. Store the frozen product between -90°C to -60°C until the expiry date for up to 36 months (not exceeding the expiry date).
C. With waterproof insulated gloves and safety glasses/goggles on, place dry ice pod with dry ice back in shipper and allow dry ice to sublimate in a secure well-ventilated area.

Step Four:
NOTE: Carrier waits for shipper return for 30 minutes. During this time, a Shipment Delivery email with product status will be received. Note: Do not return product.
A. With dry ice pod back inside shipper, re-seal shipper using packaging tape. Note: Tape shipper in a “plus sign” shape. Do not seal shipper in a “H” shape.
B. Apply return label on top of existing return label, and “Dry Ice” label next to new return label.
C. Cover the Diamond shaped Biological Substance Category B UN3373 marking, Dry Ice UN1845 markings including 19.0 kg, and Diamond shaped Class 9 hazard label on the thermal shipping container with blank labels provided, where appropriate. Note: Do not cover UPC barcode or XF stickers.
D. Shipper is picked up by carrier.
