CMS systems installed on health centers around Iceland

June 01, 2010

Controlant has reached an agreement with the Directorate of Healt and the Chief Epidemiologist for Iceland to install a CMS monitoring system on over 50 health clinics widespread around the country.

The system automatically monitors the humidity and temperature in drug cabinets in each clinic and keeps track of changes to ensure proper quality control, safety and duration of sensitive drugs.

Controlant has worked closely with the Icelandic Medicines Agency to ensure that the system fulfills all standards and requirements.

Controlant supervised the system deployment but setup of sensor equipment was carried out by the staff at each health clinic. Due to the simplicity of the CMS system the setup process took only few minutes in all cases.

Employees at each healt clinic have access to the current status, as well as the measurement history, of their own drug containers through Controlants web system.  Automatic alerts are sent out by the system should the state of the container exceed the predefined requirements and Controlant staff maintains a 24 hour remote watch to ensure that proper actions are taken within time limits.
